How does the $1 per follower reward work?

THE SHORT VERSION

Every real follower you gain is worth $1. We hold each reward for a short window to confirm the follower is a genuine person, then it moves to your wallet automatically. You don't have to claim anything.

The basics

When someone follows you on Niibu, that follow is worth one US dollar to you. It's the simplest part of how Niibu pays creators: grow your audience, get paid for it.

There's one condition — the follower has to be verified first. We added this step on purpose. The reward only stays valuable if the dollars go to creators with real audiences, not to anyone buying bots or farming fake follows. Verification protects your earnings and keeps the whole system honest.

A follow is worth a dollar. We just make sure it's a dollar earned from a real person.

The journey of a single reward

Each follow creates its own reward that moves through a few stages. Here's the path a healthy reward takes:

What “verified” actually means

During the hold window we run a few automatic checks on the new follower. A reward is verified when all of them pass:

  • It's a confirmed account. The follower has a verified email or phone number on file.
  • The account is established. Brand-new accounts created seconds ago don't qualify right away — there's a minimum account age.
  • One reward per follower. You're paid once for each person who follows you. If someone unfollows and re-follows later, it doesn't pay a second time.
  • The follow behaviour looks healthy. We watch for bot-like patterns — mass follow-then-unfollow, lots of accounts from the same device or network, sudden bursts from one cluster — and hold or cancel anything suspicious.

You don't manage any of this. Verification runs in the background. You'll just see rewards move from pending to paid in your wallet on their own.

When you'll see the money

Every reward is held for a short verification window — 72 hours by default — before it can be verified. This is the cushion that lets us catch fake follows that disappear after a day.

After a reward is verified, it's sent for payout and posts to your wallet shortly after. The actual money movement is handled by Niibu's payment system, so your wallet always reflects the official, confirmed balance.

The $1 reward is only one way you earn

Verified follower rewards are the headline, but they sit alongside several other earning streams that all flow into the same wallet:

  • Engagement — payouts tied to views, likes and comments on your content.
  • Product sales — commission when people buy through your shoppable posts.
  • Fan subscriptions — recurring income from subscribers to your tiers.
  • Brand campaigns — what you earn from collabs and sponsored deliverables.

Your Wallet breaks earnings down by source so you can see exactly where each dollar came from.

Common questions

Someone unfollowed me — do I lose the dollar?

Only if it happens before the reward is verified. Once a reward has been paid, a later unfollow doesn't claw the dollar back.

Why has a reward been “pending” for a while?

It's almost always inside the normal hold window, or it's getting an extra look because something about the follow looked unusual. Both resolve on their own.

Can I speed it up?

No — and that's by design. The waiting period is what keeps fake follows from ever getting paid.

Don't buy followers. Purchased or bot follows fail verification, get canceled, and repeated abuse can put your rewards under manual review. Authentic growth is the only growth that pays.
